If you're sure it's from the top end, then I would replace the TCT (get one from Billman). OEM TCT are known to fail, some even at pretty low miles from what I've read.

In my opinion TCT noise is higher pitch and really sounds like cards in spokes more than a knock.

I'll throw my guess in and say that's piston slap/scored walls. Drain the oil and send to Blackstone to know for sure.

i did drive it home, 23 - 26 miles, no power loss, to be safe ordered tct from advanced, so if it doesn't fix it i can return it if it doesn't fix then i have to figure out what to do with it

Take a sample of your oil and send to Blackstone. It's a cheap, quick, and easy way to rule out engine issues without causing further damage. Ask me how I know...
