Default Fuel additives or cleaners

I always hang out in the automobile section of target/walmart, and always see the fuel cleaners and other liquid bottles they sell.

Does anyone use them? I never for any of my cars before, let alone my s2k.

I've only ever used one additive.

I use 1/2 a can of SeaFoam in my gas tank about every 10th fill-up. I first started using it in my outboards years ago, and then in my ultralight's 2 cycle aircraft engine. When I hit 100,000 miles I added some for the first time to the oil. I didn't notice any difference, but since I've only used Mobile-1, I didn't expect to have any sticking rings. I pulled the plugs at 100,000 miles and ran a borascope(?) in each cylinder - no carbon residue on the top an any of the pistons.

Some might call it snake oil, but in both 2 cycle engines I've never had any carbon issues or sticking rings. My ultralight engine now has over 500 hours on it with no issues. The manufacturer says the engine needs a rebuild at 300 hrs. My compression is still excellent, and I don't plan to do a rebuild anytime soon.

As always - your results may vary !

I like to run Redline fuel injector cleaner about once a year, it has a good reputation and these cars do get sticky injectors at times, I've seen one on a set of low mileage injectors that I purchased recently. I like to use an upper cylinder lube like Lucas.

I run either BG44K or Redline SL-1 in all my cars about once every 6 mos.The BG is found usually online or at dealerships and is pricey, and Redline I usually find at the Boys of Pep>>

IMO,both do a good job.

Same.

After speaking with my chemical engineering friend who used to work at Chevron I'm sold on the product.

Guess i'll pick up a couple of these and run 1 in a tank of gas for 2 tanks in a row since i have never run it.

When i pulled the injectors they weren't necessarily good looking either lol.
