Default Fuel pump extra ground wire

Hello,
I purchased a new fuel pump assembly along with the fuel sock

The assembly came with this wire that has an extra metal piece (pointed in picture)

This piece has no obvious place to go, and the old assembly didn't have it.
Please tell where its supposed to go, I might be missing something

This flat metal piece has no where to go, I did not want to install it so there won't be a naked electrical source in my fuel tank

I think it's just and extra ground similar to the smaller copper looking one just to the left.
In mine it was just zip tied in place so it didn't touch anything else important.

Hey, thanks for the reply, I am worried about doing this incase there is still current going through it, and its next to petrol fumes.
