Default Fuel Release Button Fell Into Mount Hole

So the title says it. I'm driving an AP1, I rolled up to the gas station pressed the fuel button and it just fell into the mount. Is there an easy way to access that area so I can fix it? The only idea I've had so far is use a coat hanger to try and grab the wire but it didn't work too well.

I'm not trying to troll here but aren't you suppose to pull the fuel button/lever thing? and not push it in? That's what I do. As for your problem I have no idea how to get it out.

its not even like a button to push, its a little knob that instinctively makes you think "pull".

go through the trunk, the felt liner on the driver side can be removed and you can take the release mechanism off from in there to open the fuel door. it turns and releases the entire mechanism that holds the fuel door shut

Yeah I ended up opening the side panels and adjusting back into place. It shouldn't budge when you push but someone had twisted it open. At any rate I had the car for one day at that point, go easy on me!

Usually people are asking how to open the gas door. At least you passed that test.
I remember my salesman specifically showing me how to open it.
