Default Fuel Tank

Does anyone know how drain the fuel tank on our cars? Is there any easy way to do it or is this gonna be a long and drawn out process? Thanks.

There is no easy way. If you don't wish to drive it to empty, you'll have to syphon it out. I've been told that it is very difficult to do this through the fuel fill pipe as it has an odd bend that prevents the tube from going to the bottom of the tank. Your only other option would be to remove the fuel pump and syphon it out the top of the tank.

fastest way would be:

loosen the bolt on fuel rail and start cranking the motor.

disclaimer: it's going to make a mess under ur hood.

It's an electric fuel pump. You shouldn't have to crank it.
This is worth a try. Disconnect the fuel line coming from the tank and put the end into a gas can and turn the ignition on. It may take a while if you've got lots of gas in there.

Isn't NFRS2kSi right about having to disconnect the battery? I mean once I don't have any power going to the vehicle I will have to find another route than the using the pump to do all the work?

The ECU only runs the fuel pump for a couple seconds each time you turn the key on. If you want to use this method, I'm jumper some wires to the fuel pump and run it continuosly. You can do it at the main relay too.

Don't run the fuel pump much dry or you'll over-heat it. It's cooled by the fuel.

Honda says use a hand pump in the manual. My reading of the manual suggests jumpering 12 volts to the main relay harness connector at the yellow/grn wire would make the pump run continuously. So, yellow/black jumpered to yellow/grn will make the pump run if the key is on. Unplug the main relay to do this of course.

I've look at the manual myself to verify it.

Ek9 thanks. I also finally found my manual and it says the same about the hand pump. I guess I will have to see how things look once I actually get started this afternoon. Thanks again guys for all the help.
