Default Fuel tank vent

Hi All,

I assume the fuel tank has a relief/breather valve located somewhere? Currently if I run the car for more than 15 minutes I hear a 'groaning/sighing' noise from the fuel tank area once the ignition is shut off and repeats about every 5 seconds. Releasing the fuel cap always results in a release of pressure.

Can you point out where this breather would be located so I can inspect it?

Thanks

There is a small pipe connected to the fuel pipe that runs to the emissions canister and equipment below the car. Have you been filling the fuel tank beyond the first click of fuel hose when the tank is full ?, I used to fill the tank beyond the first click of the pump to get more fuel in the tank and it caused issues for me in the past. It ends up sending raw fuel to the emissions canister through the vent pipe which probably isn't a good idea.

Well I'm almost running on fumes at the moment, so I'll go for a spirited drive after work and see if I can correlate the amount in the tank to the noise. I do tend to keep the tank topped up, so it's possible the two are related.

Thanks for the feedback
