Default fuelling problem?

Hi folks, i picked up my S2000 on wednesday and already having problems with it

first thing i noticed is when i am pulling away from junctions/lights if im not taking it above 2k rpm while letting clutch out it is juddering like its not getting enough fuel/air until its above 2k rpm, it judders quite violently, it doesnt do this all the time though

the other thing is when it is sitting at idle it is using alot of fuel, 3 bars on gauge in around 5 minutes which is no use

anyone got any ideas as to what the problem is? its an 04 ap1 if thats any help?

thanks

Alan

Are the 3 bars the last 3 ones? Because those disappear in everyones S rather quickly. I use my last 3 bars in about 5-10 miles.

What did you drive before the s2000? If you are used to a car with more low end torque, you may simply not be giving the s2k enough throttle when taking off sometimes, resulting in the shuddering as the engine bogs down. Regarding the fuel gauge, did you notice if the fuel level went back up after driving on a level road for a bit? I've noticed that the fuel gauge seems to be very sensitive on the s2k. When idling on even the slightest incline the fuel level sometimes drops a few notches... but it seems to go back up after I drive for a few minutes.

2000 rpm is more than enough to keep the car going. 1500 rpm is good enough.

That depends on how quickly you release the clutch pedal...

I just took my car into the shop because it would lurch at low RPM and then I would get a P0172 which is running rich in bank one. They've narrowed it down to the fuel pressure regulator, it was running 80PSI. I didn't notice a large fuel consumption but then again I own a jeep as a daily driver. Don't know if it helps much but its something worth checking out.

i drove a wrx before this and a couple of v6 turbo audi's before that but have always had hondas at the same time and this is the first time i have had this sort of problem with them, also have a B20 vtec crx

there is no CEL on the dash or anything so may just be my driving style?

the gauge did go back up a notch or two but didnt last long at all after that, there is also a bit of a smell on WOT, no smoke though, i beleive the car was sitting in the forecourt for a while and may just need a good service to get it running right, it has done only 1500 miles in the last year which is when it was last serviced, i will be giving the dealer a phone and have them go over it under the warranty just so its running as sweet as can be

thanks all
