Hi,

I am posting this for future s2000 owners. I recently started to experience flickering dash lights, no start, and the car stalling while I was driving. All symptoms pointed toward a bad alternator and battery. I went to autozone to get both checked and th4 battery test came back bad, and the alternator was showing a bad diode.

Yesterday I decided to crack open the battery and lo and behold, it was dry. I proceeded to refill the battery and took it back to autozone ( a diff one, just to make sure their scanner wasn't faulty). Both the battery and alternator came back green.


I was about to drop 80 on an alternator and 140 on a new battery. I would have paid 300 for it all installed. If you are having similar problems, I recommend checking the battery for water, it saved me a lot of trouble and money.

 

I fill mine once a year, helps maintain that problem. Good info
