Gap between the header and test pipe

Default Gap between the header and test pipe

hi, i just install my Ricks header and t1r 70mm test pipe, is there suppose to be a gap between the head and test pipe. also the test pipe look kinda loose when i bolt everything up tight.

uhm. If you bolt everything up tight but the test pipe is loose, then it's not bolted up tight, is it?

or is there an actual gap between flanges after bolted tight?

If that's the case, one or both of the flanges are warped.

This is a pic of my S before I installed my TP. As you can see, there is a nice gap between the header flange and the cat flange. It was the same after I installed the TP. this is normal. I'm almost certain that the Ricks Header uses a doughnut gasket. It is made to mate up to the stock cat. Hope this helps.

i used to stock Cat Gasket. will it be fine?

Yes.

It also ships with a set of gaskets in the box. Check the bottom of the box. hopefully you did not toss it without finding them.

I had mine sent off from Rick's to HPC for coating and it didn't show up with any gaskets - I had to purchase them separately.

there is supposed to be a gap. i would double check for leaks, as i had a problem with that, and ended up having to ditch the stock type spring loaded bolts, for something else.
