Default Gearbox and Diff oil

Hi,
Basically my question is not about what already available I have done some research on what oil is needed and what not.
My question is what is the most value plus quality oil.

Pentosin SAE 80w90 GL5
Gulf Syngear 75w90
Gulf Syngear 75w140
Titan Gear Hypoid 80W90
Valvoline Durablend 75W90
Gulf Gear LS 80w90

all these I can get them for very very good price. Around 80-90 percent of RRP.

Would really appreciate it if I can get some help with this. I plan on buying 10L of each to stock it lol.

Regards

Best wear protection on the diff is almost always directly related to viscosity, thicker viscosity will get you lower wear as long as the fluid is matched to your weather conditions. Not sure if you get really cold temps in your region or if you drive it year-round, or if you track the vehicle, that can affect fluid choice.

Find the fluid that best relates to a viscosity of an SAE 110 gear oil. I'm not a fan of any 75w90 fluid, though Mobil1 tends to make one of the better ones if you are going that route. Can you locate a 75w110 fluid ?, that would be my first choice, great wear protection and it will flow quickly in cold temps. The 75w140 would be nice but a bit overkill unless you are tracking the car, if you track the car then I'd go with it. Amsoil makes a nice 75w110 gear oil if you can access Amsoil in your region.

10 liters? The differential only holds 0.75L. That's enough for 13 changes of the differential which is only needed every 15,000 miles in severe service. Plan to keep the car another 200,000 miles?

As for what to use we all have our favorites:

I was so happy with my first S that I bought another one lol
It's cheap enough for me to buy and horde diff and gearbox oil atm. The place I work at are getting rid of all Valvoline and Titan Gear as they aren't going to be supplying them anymore hence whatever stock is there it can be had for cheap specially for staff so I thought why not buy couple of 4L containers of diff and gearbox oil.

I'll have a look if I can find 75w110.
most of them will cost me between 5-7 dollar a litre.

That's a great price, I like redline 75w-110 myself, pentosin makes great products. I use their dot4 brake fluid has an amazing 320℉ wet boiling point.

I've been comparing a few diff oils and made a table, thought it might be of use for someone else.
For reference the S2000 was specified to use a SAE90 with the old SAE J306 viscosity classification, which range between 13.5-24 cSt.
With the new SAE90 spec at 13.5-18.5 cSt you might want to look at a 75W-110 grade instead, like mentioned previously.

Not familiar with those brand/model of gear lube. Since you are getting 10-liters of the stuff, anything on your side of the pond close to Mobil One LS 75W-90, and changing it every year -- for the next ten years --- will work just fine. IMHO. You'll need a package of differential drain plug washers, too.

OP, you might want to read this article about stock piling mineral based oils in colder climates for too long. Synthetics oils apparently store better than mineral based oils, FWIIW.

That being said...you are getting a great price.

I bought some Pentosin GL5 80w90 for diff and Pentosin GL4 MT2 75W80 for the gearbox. Paid $5.94 per litre for diff and $7 for MT2 per litre which I thought was cheap considering retail for them is 4 times more.
I live in London so winter is not that cold it stays around 3-4 centigrade at coldest and summer last 2 maybe 3 days in June or July and rest of the summer months is a pissing contest between different gods.
