Gears 1-4 and Reverse work No 5th 6th

Default Gears 1-4 and Reverse work No 5th 6th

So i bought a s2k oem everything 131 k comes up i started slippin so i did the clutch today i finished and was putting the shifter back in (This was the first thing I tool off) and i started goig through the gears and couldnt get into 5th and 6th at all but I can get into reverse perfectly . When i try to go into 5th and 6th it feels like a wall is there and im completley blocked off. I took the shifter out and stuck a 3/8th extention down there and again tried to go through the gears and same results. pleae help

There should be a spring under the shifter. They do get stuck in the down position which would cause your problem. Is yours in place?

Sounds like shifter in backwards to me. It can go in two ways. Tilting left or tilting right. I bet its tilted the wrong way.

yeah but i took the shifter out and put in a 3/8th extention to see if it was just my shifter and when i try to go in 5th it wont work. By shifter you mean the actual shift stick it only fits one way because theres a small grove in the center

that greasy spring that comes out when you take out the shifter?

Yes, the shift level, or 'stick'. It can go in backwards, and when it put in that way, the symptoms you describe occur.

Search shifter backwards to see how its supposed to go.

if i move the linkage with something it feels like thered a brick wall when im in Neutral wigglinh to the right towards 5th
& 6th but i got play going towards 1st 2nd
