Ghost Booster
I know that this information may be out dated, but I am trying to understand something..
The Ghost Booster modification was a modification (replacment?) of the map sensor on the throttle body which when positive manifold preasure was detected it told the ECU that rather than positive manifold preasure there was 0 vacuum (rather no vacuum??)
Are there any websites out there with instructions on how to make this, or find out more information?
Thanks
Chris
PS- I tried the search but I only came up with a few results.. perhaps the old threads on this were deleted??

I too have wondered what this was and how it worked. There was a huge discussion some time ago about the SC and this was discussed heavily. Since I am somewhat considering this I was hoping that someone would post something on the progress.
I kinda implied this in the original post, but I want to say reiterate that I know that it may or may not be useful today, but the question still stands.. Please no posts about it being useless or that it cracks the brackets or anything..
everything you could possibly want to know and more!!!

You should also know that the last time the ghostbooster was discussed was in relation to cracks in the SC mounting brackets - at the time it seemed that only the people with ghostboosters (I may not be entirely correct on this, so don't take it as gospel) had cracked brackets. There was speculation that somehow, the ghostbooster was (indirectly) linked to the cracks. As far as I know, this was never proven, nor was a valid theory for why the ghost booster would cause the cracks put forth.
I haven't seen any discussion about this for a while, so I don't know if there was ever a reason found for the cracking.

hecash, it sounds like your solutions would work really well..
It looks rather complicated however, I don't have any electronics experience.. did you ever post details of your specific setup??

Hecash has it essentially right... The Ghost Booster is an electronic version of a Pneumatic Check Valve. Both the GB and the CV are designed to prevent the ECU from ever seeing Boost created by the SC. There are a couple different versions of the GB floating around out there and the one I'm using doesn't actually have a second MAP sensor. Either way the motivation for the creation of the GB was to address hesitation and other strange throttle responses caused by imperfect operation of the CV. The GB works very well at alleviating these problems.
For awhile I thought that there was a connection between the GB and SC brackets that were breaking on a couple different cars. It has since been shown that the brackets would break wether or not the GB was installed.
Comptech recently performed some load cell analysis on the vibrations the SC was seeing during every day driving. A new additional bracket has been designed as a result of those tests and Both me and SilverSurfer have been running with it problem free for a number of weeks now.

I take it hecash has the latest version then.. It seems pretty simple actually (the concept).. all of the parts are available at radio shack??
I have some friends which will be able to help me..

davepk (Dave),
Where can I get the new bracket for the SC? Will Comptech supply that for free?
I am going to install my Comptech SC soon and would like to do it right the
first time with the new bracket that Comptech designed. Thanks!
Also, are you still running the Ghost Booster? Is it a repalcement or the check
valve that Comptech provides in the SC kit or is it just an add-on part (on top
of the Comptech CV)? Would you mind giving me a list of parts so I can
make myself a GB as well to get rid of the SC hesitation and throttle response?

dave,
So I take it that it is okay to return to the Ghost Booster? For a while Comptech said that they would void the SC's warranty if I used the Ghost Booster...
This is great news because I get quite annoyed during the first two "accelerations" past 5000rpm EVERY DAY when the Comptech check valve sticks...
An extra bracket would be very cool too!
