Default going 2.2 in my f20c

taking my block into the machine shop on the 6th and just wanted to make sure im doing this right. i have the 2.2l crank along with the crower rods to match. i plan on using the same pistons while getting the cylinders honed. the crank bearings will be new oem. im just not sure what piston rings to purchase... i need some good advice on those. the machine shop will balance the block and assemble for less than 500. i will be slapping on my fully built head with an oem headgasket before dropping her back in

do i need anything else done to make this setup work properly? also would there be any benefit in replaicing the f20 pistons with f22 since everything else will be new im just trying to avoid spending more money if at all possible... i heard the pistons have a height difference and i want to make sure everything is perfect! any input?

Sounds like you'll need a good tune when she gets back.

You don't want to rev it to 9000, keep it around 8400.

Probably want to stick with OEM rings too, you could deck the block slightly.

Double check the Rods to make sure they fit properly. you might need to make some minor trimming.

This is coming from what i've been reading from other people's builds. I would search and read as much as possbile... Also post in the NA section about your build and be more specific on "built head"

really my question at this point is weather the f20c pistons that are currently in the motor will be ok to remain in use with all the new 2.2 parts or if the oem 2.2 pistons should be put on order. i read the pistons pin hole are in different settings... is this going to create an issue with clearance? help please

Try this thread. This guy is asking the same questions as yourself.

Perhaps you should both get together.

i decided to keep use of my f20 pistons since it will increase my compression. now the question is what kind of tuning/piggy back system ill need to have the new components work with my ap1 ecu to lower the red line and not tear my brand new block up. can i lower my redline on my own? do i need too for reliability and prolonged use? is the new compression going to create any king of timing issues? just trying to make sure it runs smoothly.

comments and/or advice is welcome
