So whats your opinion on performance driving books. Are there any good ones. I got my car this year and really want to participate in some of the local events including auto cross, and some of the performance driving classes. However, time being what it is I have come to the realization that I probably will not be able to attend these events this year...hopefully next year.

So in the mean time I was hoping to find a good book or two in which I can learn some of the specifics of performance driving. I realize this is in no way a substitute for a real class in a real car, however, this is as close as I will probably get in the immediate future.

I found some books on amazon like "Going Faster : Mastering the Art of Race Driving : The Skip Barber Racing School" but wanted some opinions before spending the cash...

Thanks in advance.

That's a great book and very easy to follow.

You can also try Carroll Smith's "drive to win".

Someone else mentioned the same book, I told them I'm more of the hands on type though. I'm sure if you don't mind reading it'll probably be good.
