^^^ Hey, the "Absolut Lemon" says it all. My B5 Passat 1.8T was more like a rotten lemon.

or you can vacuum it, and then wash it "gently" in soap and water ... let it dry overnight and reinstall it for another year ...... and save the money for gas ......

I just pulled mine out and vacuumed it. didnt bother washing it right now.

I did spray febreze in it though, and it smells great when i turn on the fan lol.

Why are you guys just vacuuming these filters out? Really? You can't afford a $20 filter? You can vacuum it all you want but theres still debris embedded in the filter, thats why theyre black. That debris will reduce the air flow going through it. Also, not changing this filter for a LONG period of time can make it break apart, and you dont want that all that crap going through your blower motor. I've seen numerous cabin filters break apart in customers cars at my shop before, so YES it does happen.

You guys drive $20k+ cars, buy the damn $20 filter, christ.

You mean like a doll shoe? Otherwise not possible. You must be thinking of the engine air filter. You might squeeze a small shoe into that area.

i just ordered a replacement from http://www.handa-accessories.com/s2000-04maint.html and it was only 18.80

its the Cabin A/C filter Element?
