Thumbs down Grinding between 1st and 2nd

Since I got my s2k I have had a problem with gears grinding when I go to shift into 2nd gear. This problem happens about once a day and am wondering what I can do to remedy it.

Would changing my diff fluid for Redline Shockproof Heavyweight do anything for me?

What do you guys suggest? Your input would be greatly appreciated

Changing your diff fluid wouldn't do anything. Changing your tranny fluid would though.

Try Honda MTF or GM Syncromesh.

try this remedy...

1 - depress the clutch pedal FULLY
2 - shift out of 1st into neutral
3 - wait 1.5 seconds, then shift into 2nd.
4 - engage clutch.

the key is to wait 1.5 seconds in neutral before shifting into 2nd. this allows your layshaft to slow down and match the speed of your 2nd gear for a smoother shift.

it worked for me. 100%

Make sure that when you pull back to 2nd that you pull back straight and even a fraction to the RIGHT.... NOT back and diagonal towards you.

Practice going from neutral stick to 2nd and you will get the feel of it's location. Once you get muscle memory of 2nd gear.. you'll find the 1st to 2nd is much smoother.
