Default Grinding problem

Have just sold my Civic Type R and going to buy an S2000 soon. Have talked to a fried that said that the early models (00-01) have grinding problems between 1-2 gear. Is that true? And is the gerbox 02- much better than the 00-01 gearbox?

Hope someone can help me

Hiya,

My 2000 UK S 2000 does feel a bit notchy between 1st and second shift but nothing to worry about..I just got Honda to replace the gearbox and diff oil and that made a good difference..

i would say all cars are notchy/slightly grindy feeling 1-2. my 05 is. i'm sure many others are. i'm gonna put some gmsmfm in there this week and see how it goes. many people have been writing that that stuff is the best feeling tranny fluid for our cars.

the car has TSBs for the issue described. they are generally issued when engineers ooops on a higher level.
