Default Ground Control sleeve question

Hey guys and girls, I have the ground control sleeves on stock shocks that I purchased from another member. I recently had my rear fenders rolled, I will be getting an alignment Friday, so I felt today would be a good day to go an inch lower(from the middle of the wheel to fender I'm at 14") When I took the wheel off, and began to twist lower, I couldn't go any further due to the spring seat. My question is, is there a way for me to get around the spring seat on the stock shock? Will I have to remove it, or replace it with another part? Thanks Justin
This is the suspension as its install now on my car

This is what I'm trying to achieve

It looks like you could grind the OEM spring seat off, and use a large washer to rest the GC sleeve on. You could also just get shorter springs to achieve the same result. Be careful about going too low on stock shocks and blowing them.

I spoke to ground control today, what I am missing is the steel ring that goes where the spring seat goes. Luckily they're 8 dollars each. Thanks for your help
