Thumbs up hardtop alignment?

So i purchased a hardtop a while ago, and installed the rear catchers (although i never had to cut the metal that the instructions referred to). Anyway the problem is i get the hardtop to sit flush, the latches all lock down, however when i take the hardtop off and put the soft top up its obvious the hardtop took the front catchers out of alignment.

How can i adjust the hardtop or hardware so that my front latches aren't being distorted.

first question would be do you lock your soft top latches up before putting the HT on?
also tighten up the screws(2) that fasten the latches?
Other than this I am unsure how this can happen. I am assuming you have an OEM HT.

tighten the catchers. I had a loose one and my hardtop wouldn't go on no matter what and i spent two hours putting it on and off wondering why it wouldnt fit.

you need to bend that piece of metal to line up with the groove otherwise your hardtop wll not sit right. Thats probably the reason why your softop doesnt line up either...

Its part of the instructions because its required to do..
