Default hardtop hardware help

Hi Guys,

First post on here... I just bought a hardtop off craigslist for my baby. trouble is once i went to install it i noticed it needed extra hardware that mounted onto the car. i don't have this and when i priced it out found out (argh!) that dealer cost is a little over $1000 bucks!!!

Is there any other way to mount this. can i fab mounts and if so has anyone done this before? is there aftermarket ones available. is there a monza red duct tape out there?!

Please help... i don't wanna spend another gino

There are aftermarket options such as these but none are as convenient as the OEM hardware for quick and easy installation and removal.

Thanks so much for the reply. That's a huge help. I am going to put in an order for these right now. I'll let you know once I have it installed.

Much love and tire smoke

those parts often come up for sale in the for sale forum, put up a post in the want to buy forum and you will likely get some bites. They are still a bit pricey for used parts but nothing like new parts from the dealer. It sucks that someone sold you the HT without discussing the necessary parts that go with it, you likely didn't get the defrost wire either ?.
