Default Hardtop Trouble...

Well I just recently aquired a hardtop from a local and installation was very basic at least thats what I thought. I Got everything to align up perfectly except for the last top bolt on the driver side catcher which eventually went in with some heavy wrenching but other then that every single bolt and screw went in without a hitch.
I however did not recieve the front strikers and I know since mines is a 01, it would be alot better if I had some of the newever ones.

Now to the problem, It seems that when I go over 70 mph I get some wind noise comming in from the very lower left side on the window weatherstrip right where the glass comes into contact with the rubber piece on the driver side. Passenger side is perfectly fine. If I put my elbow on it while i'm driving its gone but that tends to be very annoying.

P.S. If anyone has some new strikers they wanna sell let me know or 02-03 defroster switch with harness let me know also.

Anyways thx alot gang!

hardtopguy has the new strikers about $60?

behind the rubber there is a couple philip head screws, it takes time
I had 3xs at a hour each time

get the new strikers and then re-adjust it all

The weather strip is held in place by a chrome channel. You can't see that channel until you pull the weatherstrip out. That channel is attached to the hardtop with screws. If you pull the weather strip away from the hardtop, it will release from that channel to expose those screws. You can adjust the channel, in or out, to adjust the weatherstrip contact on the window. The weather strip will easily reattach to the channel when finished. Mine still has some wind noise after adjusting the weatherstrip. But this adjustment did reduce the amount of noise.

The hardtop requires some fine grained adjustment. Be prepared to spend a lot of time screwing with it.

hey guys It seems as though the hardtop on the driver's side needs to shift toward the front of the car by like 1/12 of a inch of where the hardtop weatherstripping meets the car weatherstripping.

Is there anway to adjust this or am i gonna have to live with windnoise at 70mph+++

I also found out that alot of ppl on the forum has been have the same problem after going through like 20 searches.

I will try to post some pics tommorow to show you guys what i'm talking about

Mine howls horribly over 120mph, Last time I checked it did. Sounds like the rear latches need to be adjusted to close the gap to the windsheild header.
