I would say wait till you get the updated strikers before messing with anything else, as it definitely makes it a much tighter fit.

Did you bend the sheet metal where the rear catchers touch?

can you use strickers from an OEM hardtop work on a mugen one?

I made my soft top catches adjustable by slotting the mounting holes, this will take up any wear in the striker plates.

I don't own a hardtop so don't know if this will work with hard top catches, but take a look and see what you think:
