I have one that threads into the output side of the regulator but that is not common. I would think that tapping into the fuel rail would be the way to go for a gauge.

Honda's remove the damper from the fuel rail, and connect a gauge in there. The service manual lists a part number for an adaptor that goes in place of the damper to allow the gauge to be connected. PITA!

it's a mushroom looking thing in the middle of the fuel rail on the driver side of the car.

Here is a factoid - fuel pressure spec on the 2004 is about 7 psi lower than 00-03.

unfortunately I had clearance problems so I had to drill/tap into the fuel rail and thread a 1/4 inch opening. The tap was about 1.5 inches from the end of the fuel rail (closest part to the nose of the car). At that point I fitted a tee (not necessary for your application) and then attached the fuel pressure sensor unit which sends an electrical signal to the fuel pressure guage. Make certain you use compressed air to blow out the fuel rail when you are finish tapping and used teflon paste when attaching all the fitting (do not over do it though). I also used brass fittings. The fuel pressure is anywhere from 46psi to 53psi.

I rang Honda Aus about the adaptor that fits in place of the damper and they said it wasn't available. Whether they mean in Aus or globally I'm not sure.

My tuner removed the damper altogether and put a connector there.

not sure about the problems you'll see not running the damper but it's there to help dampen the pulses from the injectors at all revs.
