Hey Guys, I'm having problems with my transmission. I can't shift from 3rd to 4th without pausing. Usually you can go straight to 4th but now it’s locking me out of 4th. When shifting, I have to pause in between 3rd and 4th for it to select the gear. My first thought was the syncros are messed up but it doesn’t do it downshifting from 5th to 4th, it’s only upshifting 3rd to 4th. I always thought if the syncros are bad, then downshifting would cause the most problems. It doesn’t grind at all, it just doesn’t let me shift without pausing. And yes, this is with the clutch fully disengaged. The transmission only has 32000 miles on it, but it has been tracked quite a few times and I always heel-toe. Has anyone else experienced this?? I searched a bit but it seems like everyone with syncros problems are having trouble upshifting and downshifting. Is it the syncros????

couple things.

1. check your slave/clutch cyl fluid level. it might be low.
2. bleed that sucker and make sure there is no air in the system
3. make sure it doenst leak
4. change tranny fluid

if none of that works, could be bad clutch, could be bad synchro, could be bent shift gate. i think bleed and fluid swap will fix it though.

 

Yea I've heard of the clutch master cyl leaking, I checked it earlier and it looks fine but I'll try bleeding it and changing the fluid.
