Default Head Gasket Leaking?

Over the past several months I noticed on the front of my block (where the head meets the block) there is some oil running down. I took a picture of it and sent it to the dealer where i got it and they said its covered under warrenty and definitly a leak. Has anyone seen this before... or am i the only one.... Oh its a MY00 with 48000 Kilometers The car runs great and i notice hardly any oil loss over an oil change.

Seals can fail prematurely as with any other part on a car. Call it a factory freak if you will. Just get the gasket replaced and you'll be good as new. Glad to hear that the shop isn't going to give you any crap over it. Good luck.

The front of the S2000 head that covers the timing chain is a porous casting and typically will seep out a little oil that gets dirty and looks bad. 99% of the time it is no big deal and can just be washed off. A few heads are worse and seep oil more rapidly.. Honda has replaced some under warranty.

If I were you I would just clean it off and check occasionally to see how bad it is. For most of us it is just a nit.

Ya the gaskets going to get replaced by Honda under warranty so i'll let them do that and see if the problem persists. It would be a perfect time to get some head work done.... i doubt that Honda would agree with that...
Thanks all

Up to you but I would not have the dealership pull my head unless I was sure it needed it. If it is running OK and the oil has no coolant I would be looking to check for a porous casting rather than a gasket.

I have an '01 that leaks oil like a sieve, but there are no visible leaks from what I can see. Could this perhaps pertain to this condition as well too?

Leaking, or burning? S2000s burn oil, especially 01s. I go through about 1 quart total every 3000miles.

This is normal and you just need to keep the oil level up. Don't, however, overfill.
