header bolts?

Default header bolts?

anyone know offhand how tight the bolts should be. the ones that bolt to the engine?

mine are on super tight, but i just read a post where someone said theirs were easy to get off.

sorry guys i don't have a helm.

23 ft/lbs if I remember correctly.

well, that's 2.

i swear they were super hard to take out, and couldn't have been 23 ft. lbs from the factory, but i will loosen them.

I would not fool with them if everything is together and not leaking. Its very hard to get a clean torque reading on those bolts and they probably heat seize a bit so they seem tighter when you take them off. I have always done them by feel and have have not had or expect a problem.

23 ft lbs with a torque wrench to ensure even pressure across the header flange.

i've actually had them on for about a month with no problems. i am just paranoid they might be too tight. what are the odds at this point that one can snap from normal driving from overtightening.
