this is my opinion and findings after doing the header install...

Reason for Header purchase:
Originally i purchased a header just so i can do the hondata Reflash and take advantage of a lower V-tec point since they have tuned it with a set of Toda Header system. After some skeptical feed back from fello Hondata Dealers i have reconsidered my original plan and i have not done the reflash as of yet. I am still interested but i want to wait untill more owners have reported good results from it.

Some findings about the header instal:
The header alone will not give you that magic number every one is looking for on teh dyno. You will not get 20-30HP you will even be lucky to get 15hp. Realistically you will get any where from 5-10hp max probably.

Real world improvements:
Ever since installing my header on my 06 S2k i have noticed allot of things.
1. Fuel Economy has improved significantly
2. The engine feels less restrictive RPM's seem to flow more smoothly. I usually notice that 4-5K that 1000rpm difference the car would lack speed in getting to 5K rpm. 1-4K it's smooth and responsive but at 4100K to 5K it takes some time to clear 1K rpm. It's like a flat spot, with the header this has gone away. No flat spots engine feels free to rev upto any rpm.
3. Weight savings over stock

Again if your looking for high HP dyno braging numbers invest your money on a SC, Turbo, 2.4 Stroker or something else. Mufflers, headers, filters will only get you about 2-10hp max each.

If you ask me the header is worth it! Driveability is much better, engine is no longer hesitating to rev smoothly and freely. i am not a big dyno number bragger i never was and never will be. It's more of a longevity issue with the motor, it will perform more efficiently so in the long run the engine should last longer since some restriction has been removed, (this is purely subjected to how the engine is treated during it's life span).

as far as price goes... Rick's is a good copy of Mugen, comptech makes a good product. Neither one can match the quality of the JDM versions (amuse, ASM, Toda, Mugen, J's etc) the welds and over all construction is very very accurate.
i completey agree with laguna s2k. when i had a miata i put some headers on it and i liked the performance it gave me....it definitely gave smooth revs....that was the most important part. and the small gain was nice
