Default Headlight Works Randomly

For some reason Sometimes my Drivers side headlight comes on and sometimes it doesnt. When it doesnt come on it doesnt. And turning the switch ON or OFF doesnt make it come on.. Its very random. COuld this be the Bulb or The Ballast

Could be any number of electronics from the switch to the relays to loose wiring connections, even a bad ballast. A bulb typically won't be hit or miss as such so I'd look in other directions...unfortunately.

EDIT: I'd focus on the connections to the ballast and between the ballast and the light. Since it focuses on one headlight and not the other, the switch/relay probably isn't your problem.

Since your car was hit on the same side, you need to pay close attention to all the wiring. Including the ground next to the hood prop rod.

swap bulbs side to side to see if the problem moves with the bulb. If it stays the same, it's the ballast. If the problem moves with the bulb, the bulb is bad.

i had the same problem on my 04 - it would work then it wouldn't work - was the ballest - i would ask a buddy to turn the lights on and look closely - you cant see it flickering from inside the car

it's an expensive part that was on "critical back order" from Japan when i needed one - so my dealership just took one of an 05 that was on the lot
