I don't have a picture, but look beside the heat shield you will see a rubber heater hose on the firewall near the battery, there is a metal cable coming out of the firewall attached to the mixing valve. When you turn the temp dial from cold to hot it opens and closes the mixing valve. Have someone turn the temp dial and see if that valve is moving via the cable.
i will wait till i have someone to help me. what if it doesnt work.

If the car temp is getting up to 3 bars (and not going over/under after being warmed up) then the thermostat is fine. They either stick closed (overheating car) or stick open (car never gets to correct temp, usually this is the one that happens) but if he's at 3 bars on the temp, thermostat is good.
no kidding, so the bar thingy measures coolant??? not to sound like an @** but no S*** junior, I was seeing when the last time he had it replaced, there can be more than one problem here....if youre soap Im captain price

OP, our cars get its heat for the heater from the coolant so I'd more than likely start troubleshooting everything, whens the last time you had your coolant system flushed? Also, hows your idle when warming up?

get your codes pulled anyways. If your CEL is always on, you will never know when a new problem arises. your answer may be there!
