Default Hell of an engine noise

This noise literally came out of no where when i was driving. I tried to pin the noise down but to me it sounds kinda like cylinder head noise maybe a valve?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ml1rnbCNcas

In the video the changes in sound mostly have to do with the changes in RPM. I'm probably going to start in on taking the cylinder head off, but if people with more experience then I could tell me what they think it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I already threw a new one in hoping shotgun parts at it and fix it, plus its so damn loud. Its tough to tell how loud but try comparing it to the engine when you listen to it.

That's either rod knock or valvetrain noise. I can't be for sure without standing there, but it sounds like the head. Pull the valve cover and look for obvious damage. A valve stem sunken into one of the retainers would be good to look for as the rocker would smack it with the added gap. It sounds like a rocker is beating around. look for a bad tappet to. I would not run the car like it is.

Definitely not the TCT.

Sounds like a #4 cylinder failure (scuffed bore)
