Well, I have an '03 with about 26k. I just installed the v2 last weekend and this is my experience thus far. You will hearing a hissing sound from the engine bay at idle. As you drive, the engine bay sounds louder and you can really hear the throaty sound when you vtec and/or going above 80mph. I think it's the normal. It sounds really nice. The only issues that concerns me personally are maintenance of the filter and hydrolock.

All of the rear wheel drive I've driven or rode in makes a whinning noise from behind. My bro's two previous corolla gt-s did it, my sc400, my S2k, my friend's new S2k, my parents pick up trucks, etc. I've notice whinning noise from all of those cars and from others too. I'm not sure if it's normal, but I just learned to ignore it after changing the differential fluid didn't cure it (my sc400).

thanks for all the replies! Honestly I can not clearly describe this sound, it is not tranny whine, it is not normal aem elephant charge, it is a high pitched annoying LOUD!!!!!! sound at low throttle, so light sucking from the intake, Due to its connection with the throttle body and my relatively recent install of the aem im pretty sure it is a leak or something in the AEM, I havent had time to put the stock box back on so I will find out fo sure when I get that done. I personally love the sound the aem made for the first couple of weaks but this is TERRIBLE! probably due to some mistake of mine not the intake so nothing against aem yet, Basically I was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience with their AEM, supercharger plus more annoying...
Did someone swap an 03 cobra engine in my car without me knowing
Again THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLIES!!!

Anyone folowing my recent posts knows I had this annoying whine coming from my car, which i figured was the new aem intake that I put on, and many people confirmed it was a result of the aem.... Well it turned out to be my rear end, oil has been leaking out for a week and now is bone dry and just grinding, UGH i wish i knew it wasnt the intake before, oh well, going to put the stock box back on and take it to honda, still under factory warranty I HOPE, hopefully they dont give me a hard time, it was honda certified so i dont know how they didnt catch something like that, anyways I dont know if this belongs under the hood but the moDs will take care of that, basically this SUCKS

Sorry to hear of this. Yes, I remember that other thread of yours. When you indicated that you weren't sure which end of the car the noise came from, this left some considerable doubt of it being intake noise.
Yours is a prime example of how difficult it is to diagnose "noises" over the internet. When the driver can't accurately relay which end of the car a noise comes from, let alone a good description of the noise, we stand little chance of coming up with a solution.
If you haven't worked the diff too hard during this time that the fluid started to disappear, then putting fluid back in "might" be OK. This too, is hard to tell without knowing the exact circumstances of your driving habits of the past several thousand miles.

ps. You should have just continued that other thread. That way, those who contributed to it can now see the outcome. I'm going to find it and merge this thread with that one.

To maintain continuity, I'm linking this thread that was started by the same user on what has turned out to be the same problem:

Thanks viper for linking the threads and sorry I didnt post it on the same thread. Well since it is under warranty (hopefully) I am just going to take it to honda to see what they say. I am extremely suprised as I bought this car less than 2,000 miles ago used from honda which Honda certified the car, I would think they would catch something like that, Well i guess I dont know exactly whats wrong but ill keep this thread updated if anyone is interested. OH well thanks for all the help, The coincidence of installing the intake and the rear end going in the same time frame is just bad luck, oh well, hopefully not to much damage has been done
THanks again

I would wager that "Honda Certified" does NOT mean they check the fluids in the diff or the tranny. You should have them check the tranny fluid as well and check to see if the diff fluid drain bolt washer is missing. I'll bet it just might be gone.
