Default HELP!

hello everyone,

I have been a member on here for a while now but never needed to post anything before but now Im after a bit of advice.

I have and 02 plate s2000 with a broken knock sensor. I have been meaning to get a new one but have been struggling to fine them anywhere apart from honda at £180. The car has been running with the knock sensor broken for several months but now it sounds lumpy and struggling for air when I start her up, down on power and cuts out when Im stationary after driving.

1) What is causing my car to do this as when I plugged it into a diagnostics machines it just says 325 which is a knock sensor
2) Where can I source a cheaper one? is it possible to use another hondas one like an accord?

Many Thanks

Rich S

There is a big debate on this in another thread.

I would strongly suggest an OEM knock sensor. A sensor tuned for a different car may not recognize detonation and you may damage the engine.

Give CFL Honda a try.

They are the only US-based online Honda OEM part sellers (that I know of) that will ship to Europe.
I've used them more than once, they are fast and - even with shipping & custom charges - cheaper than Honda dealers in the Netherlands.

MY'02 knock sensor
OEM part #30530-PCX-003
$118,38 = £75,-
Shipping and customs will be less than £ 105,-

You can pick them up reasonably cheap 2nd hand ( under £50 from VTEC Direct ) but why not fit a new one that you KNOW hasn't been broken before by someone else. When mine fell to bits whilst changing starter motor over, it was clear it wasn't the first time it had been repaired.
