Help--both fans turn on at same time
Hi,
Both fans are turning on at the same time: when I turn on AC, both will turn on, and when the car reaches ~95-96deg C, both turn on as well, and shut down together when the water is cooled enough.
I believe only one fan turns on when AC is turned on right? And when the water is too hot both turn on? Which fans are used for what and when? Sorry, I tried searching, but was not too clear, so I figured I'd ask here as well.
So, a little history: I believe before only one fan turned on for AC (the passenger side one), and I assumed that was correct. Then I noticed one day when the car was hot, the fans acted differently--I believe (but might be wrong) that the AC fan still turned on, but when hot, the other fan did not kick in. So, I wiggled the wiring around and both turned on, but then both always turned on at the same time.
This weekend, I took out the joint areas to rewire and found everything corroded. I put everything back together again with fresh wiring, and I believe I did a satisfactory job. There should not be any shorts. Yet, the problem remains.
Is there possibly a busted relay or something that I need to replace? Any help is appreciated.

i just replace my radiator, fans, thermostat, hoses, fan switch with all mishimoto parts. This equipment is awesome. anyway, after the install last night, you need to test the equipment. one of the tests is to see if the fans (plural) come on. as i read further, it stated the both fans come on. hope this helps.
