Default Help brake issues!

Hey guys I have been having problems with my brakes and was wondering if you guys know what my problem might be, Alright so first off my brakes are suddenly making a noise(like the brakes pads are gone) on me at low speeds while braking(like 3mph-9mph), I have notice that it usually happens when it is cold/wet and happens when I start her up and as I pull out of the lot using my brakes lightly it makes the noise. After the first time it makes the noise it disappears for the rest of the drive, im not sure if it is my brake pads or if its just the cold/wet weather. I did however try to clean the rust off one of my rotors with naval jelly and it did stain my rotor im not sure if this is why its making the noise but if you guys have any input on my situation it would be much appreciated!

-Thanks

Both my Cars do that when its cold (ap1&Ap2) what kind of pads do you have? Its just kind of like a scratching noise right? Usually it goes away when its warm so its relatively normal.

rust develops on the rotor each day after the car sits still, it's just surface rust and you really don't need to go crazy, you're pads will clean that up on a regular basis. You should really look at your pads to make sure they have some meat left on them. Regular maintenance on the pads and lubricating the guide pins is a must IMO, once a year at the minimum, twice is even better.

Sometime they'll have so much surface rust.. abs will kick in super early since the pads will bite into the rust .. pump the brakes every 10 ft or so to clean the surface of the rotor and you'll be good to go..
