Help! C/F Hood installation.....cant lock
north,
i just got my hood today ! i didn't have much time to mess around w/ it yet, but when i put it on and try to close it, i got the same problem.. it won't close...
just simply loose up all 3 bolts on the latch, and move the latch all the way up, then tie the bolt on the right side of the latch and the rest (2) on the other side.. this should help!
i still have to adjust it(tomorrow). to get the evenly gaps on the both side
quality of the hood is pretty good, this also helped my decision on the trunk lid =)

Yea, I got a message from Yellow Streak that said he had the same problem, and had alot of trouble, so he just removed it and used hood pins, so thats the road im going to take. Thanks everyone for your help, and good luck to anyone else having troubles.
GOT IT TO LOCK!! Used Yellow Streak's idea to use washers and make the latch on the hood lower, and got it lock down. Now for question # 2. What should I do about the windsheild washers not fitting too well? The holes that fit the washers are a little too small, should I cut the hood a little? or cut the plastic underneath the washers? Thanks guys! It looks great!
This thread was a savior tonight! I couldn't get my J's hood to close after installing it tonight. I had to alter the brackets, the latch, and put washers on one side of the hood latch to make it lean over more to one side. But, I'm glad I did because now I got it perfectly straight, where it wasn't at first. It's 1:45 AM, and time to go to bed now...got work in the morning. The drive to work with the new hood will be enough to get me out of bed in 5 hours.
I know this is an old thread, but I recently was adjusting a hood on my car (J's in this case) and came up with a little tidbit that might make life easier on people doing future installs
As turbo_pwr mentioned, you can move the hinges around at the point where they bolt to the car. However the rear most bolt on these cannot be reached without removing the rubber covers AND the hard plastic cowling over the wiper motors. There is a little "lip" on the hard plastic bit that makes it almost impossible to get to (or at least I found it to be).
My tip is this: If you're going to be switching hoods every once in a while and want easier access to that rear bolt, pull out your trusty Dremel and grind a little "notch" into that plastic lip so that you can fit a 10mm socket into it with the hood closed. This lip is covered by the rubber "boots" on either side so the notch won't be apparent and you won't have to take off the plastic piece (and wiper arms) each time you adjust the hood
Just a lil tip that helped me out

Hey hey hey I was just reading this thread and the only problem I had with my J's was the windshield wiper nozzles didnt fit the hole in the J's hood is much bigger so what I did was I used epoxy to glue the nozzle down. I also drilled another hole so I could zip tie the hoses to the hood.
Not sure if it's still an issue, but here's something you can try...
My bf's CRX was having a similar problem. I figured that maybe the spring under the hood wasn't it allowing to come down far enough to latch. I can't remember if our S2000's use the same mechanism, but I assume it's not something Honda would need to re-engineer. Anyway, I loosened the bolt a bit (inside the spring) with a flat screwdriver, and it seemed to work better.
