What about heat shield material, is that needed on the underside of a CF hood? I have not done the job yet but I was also thinking that I should use a maker to outline on the OE hood where the brackets go so if I ever decide to put it back it would be easy to realign. Anyone install a Mastergrade hood?

Don't need any heatshield material. MasterGrade sucks, and don't worry about your stock hood, it should align relatively easily.

Rising again from the dead, no problem with my Mastergrade hood but it fits perfect.

i'm having a similar problem. hood seems to align almost perfectly, but it just won't latch. i'll try to add washers to the latch on the hood to see if that works.

For those who actually altered the lock/latch mechanism on the car (not on the hood).. how do you do this?

Also, how did everyone install the wiper fluid hoses to the hood?

Ok I'm going to resurrect this thread because I think it's great! I havent attempted to install my cf hood yet--it is a seibon, so i dont know if i will run into the same problems you guys have or not. I just wanted to do some reading before attempting the install and feel much better equiped to tackle this after reading this thread. Thanks to all of you! I will post pics after I install all going well!!!
