Default Help! Can't find wheel lock key

Is there any way to loosen the wheel locks without destroying it? I can't find my key and I need to switch wheels. Thanks!

Steven

If you're the original owner of the wheel locks, you should have a card from the wheel lock manufactuer that describes what to do get a new "key." From what I remember the OEM wheel locks are from McGard. Maybe you can get a hold of them and they'll explain what needs to be done. Expect a lot of questions to prove you're the real owner? The McGard customer service number is:

You just need to find a car theif. They seem to be the only ones that have no trouble removing wheel lock nuts.

from what I've heard tonight the OEM locks only have 7 possibilities, and the dealer has all 7. I'll go to the dealer

By the way won't it be safer for me to buy aftermarket locks since they probably have more than 7 possibilites? Or should I not bother? I have to buy either a new key or a new wheel lock set.

Given that your stated residence is Silver Spring, Maryland, I must ask, SoCalIsMyLife, what is up with your username? What does it mean?

I used to live in Cali, and I'm moving to Socal after college. Can't wait! I would like to know the technical reasons why there are only 7 possibilities. Seems like Honda could protect their cars better even with just a dozen keys.

Would I increase my protection from getting aftermarket? Would something like Gorilla offer more protection?
