there are way more than 7 key patterns. I had the OEM locks, lost the key, and went to the dealer. They pulled out a box of what looked like about 20. None of them fit.

It is more than 7!

The dealer removed the wheel locks from my friend's car with a cold chisel. It worked, but the locks weren't in very good condition afterwards .

I used to live in Cali, and I'm moving to Socal after college. Can't wait! I would like to know the technical reasons why there are only 7 possibilities. Seems like Honda could protect their cars better even with just a dozen keys.

Would I increase my protection from getting aftermarket? Would something like Gorilla offer more protection?
I must concur, southern California is the greatest place on earth to make one's home (i.e., the fact that in approximately six weeks, I will on any given day be able to spunge/bodyboard in the morning (County Line! Represent!!!), hang out in the desert during the afternoon, and snow ski during the evening). Yeah, SoCalIsMyLife, you're right, So. Cal. ROCKS!!!

And I doubt that you would increase your protection by obtaining aftermarket locking lugs. What's more, I employed a total of two sets of non-Honda locking lugs on my first S, and the both of them allowed dirt to penetrate the lugs. OEMs do not.

It's unfortunetly very easy to remove the locks....

Take a "thin walled" socket with an I.D. slightly larger than the O.D. on the lock. Pound that into place on the wheel lock with a brass hammer. When it's on there good and tight, then attach a 1/2 ratchet/breaker bar (if necessary) and wholla... (Righty tighty, lefty loosy)

I had to do this to one of my own cars a couple years ago when I lost the key...

Don't start flaming.... See my thread on stolen seats...

When's the last time you actually heard of rims being stolen and not the whole car?

Don't listen to this guy. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

So. Cal. SUCK !!! Way over-inflated house prices, over-crowded parking lots on avery major highways during rush hours, high crime rates in many cities, very little rain in winter and no rain at all in summer, air is very polluted, and many more negatives about So. Cal.

Don't move to So. Cal., stay where you are and the grass is greener where you are already.
