Default help clarify soft top question

i need to replace the soft top on my 01. I would much rather go to a glass back. If i purchase a glass back from say a 03 or newer s2000. Are the railings the only other pieces needed beside the actual soft top. Or do i also need motors and/or other pieces. Any help greatly appreciated.

side note-- i seen where some guys have installed a glass top on there 01 with some modifications. kind of sketched to try this as i like things to work correctly in the long haul. ---- suggestions on this?

The only mod you need to do is remove the two ball studs for the top boot in the middle, and to add two straps to the rear bow. Both are very easy. I would highly recommend the Robbins glass back top without the defrost wires. Mine has lasted for many years, and I feel it has a better finish.

I got the top without the defrost. I just point my middle vent at the window and it clears up quick, but it rarely fogs. Yes the mods are for all of them. The straps hold up the extra weight of the glass. They are very easy to install. I don't have pictures right now, but it's a very dark black fabric. It's actually canvas like the oem top, but I think it looks way better. it doesn't have the melted together look.

I have the Robbins as well and highly recommend it. It's a blacker black and the canvas is easy to maintain with Ragg Top.

The OEM is actually some sort of vinyl composite.

Stayfast is the canvas. You can Google as well as I for the pricing. It varies.
