OK, I popped the console again and took some pics.

Here is a bird's eye view of underneath my console:

This is the green connector that does not appear to plug in anywhere:

View of the hazard light (fore) and top switch (aft) connectors:

And this is the parking brake switch connector:

Is something amiss?

Is that green connector for the hardtop defroster?

Also does the brake light on the dash come on with the parking brake up?

Well, that explains the green connector. The brake light in my dash is always on, though. It's b/c the floating device in my master cylinder is broken.

Check your wipers. If your wipers do not work, then the fuse for your wipers is blown -- that fuse also provides power to the top switch.

plug that green connector into the circled thing on the hand brake, then your top will work again

You're kidding, right? The P-brake connector is already plugged in -- as seen in the picture where IT'S CIRCLED!!!

It can't. On a car without the hardtop and all it's wiring harnesses, etc. connected up, that green plug is usually covered with a foam tape. It just hangs there doing nothing.

That ebrake wiring assembly is a simple momentary OFF switch and looks normal in your picture. That's not to say that the switch itself couldn't be faulty.
