Before I mess something up permanently can someone tell me how to release the weird, roundish, gray connector on top of the gas tank? There is no obvious way to release it.

It has 4 yellow or yellow blend wires on it and it's the wire that goes thru the grommet from the interior to the top of the tank.

I'm stripping down an '02 that's been wrecked.

 

Gotta be a tab on it somewhere. Try removing it off the tank and then disconnecting.
