comon porblem for s2ks.... this problem is cause by vibration of the motor on acceleration which make the connector that goes on you map senor loose cause misreadings from the map sensor.
go to honda and get the clip that goes on top of the map sensor and ties around the connector to make it tight.

some time you'll have to replace the map sensor too

i've install alot of the map sensors and ties on s2000's that comes to honda for that same complaint problem.

hope this helps

S2kBot - would you say that my problem is the MAP sensor as well? Here's my thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=627404

Note that I no longer think it's related to shifting, it's simply more obvious at lower revs (which is where upshifting usually puts me )

Fuel delivery (pressure, contamination), bad/dying injector.

Spark delivery (timing, weak), check spark plugs, _espicially_ torque of plugs.

But these would throw a MIL/CEL.

Bad ground somewhere? Check grounds. A bad ground rarely throws a CEL, and when it does, it's something really weird.

A new air filter fixed this problem for me once. Have you tried this yet?

[SIZE=7]Update[SIZE=7]

The check engine light just came on. it shows the code p0172 (system too rich)

Does anyone know what could cause this problem?

it also has 2 pending codes p0170 and p0128

Thanks in advance for any help!
