HELP! EPS light on?, confused
Hi guys, i maybe going insane here but i have a my00, does the eps light stay on all the time?, just its a "dull orange", its definetly not bright like when you start the engine etc.
I dont know if this is okay, but i just installed a yellow jacket so i dont know if that has anything to do with it?
can i reset the eps light? I presume my yellowjacket is working the speedoetert is workign correctly?
cheers

doublecheck your connections. the yellowjacket has a diagnostic LED that will tell u what wire is lose. You can also pull out the 'backup' fuse for 10 secs to reset the indicator. Before u pull the fuse, I'd advise you to check the 'CEL' thread stickied in UTH to pull the EPS blink code, just to make sure.

since the pwoer steering on the s2k is electronically controlled, it's variable by speed... thus it takes a signal from the speed sensor to tell how fast the car is going...
an error would come up if it detects inconsistancies with the rpm and speed for extended period of time... from memory, if speed remains less than 5km/h, with rpm over 1500rpm for over 3minute then it would detect it as a fault with speed sensor...and would then shut down...
my guess is if you are playing around with the yellow jacket, maybe the speed signal is not coming back high enough for the EPS... or some dodgy wiring etc
