thanks guy....after one of the local s owner(NIBBLE) run a OBD scan and turn the CEL off..the car then start to drive and act like normal now. we took the car out, do some test run...no more chocking or stall....but, i will double check on all the electronic connector over the weekend just to make sure everyting is all ok.

the outcome of the OBD scan is ( P180 ), which is same as the other comptech SC owner's scan.

again..thanks for all your input and out put.

There is no code P180. However, there is a code P0108. This is for MAP sensor (high voltage). If this is what you got, then what I said earlier applies. The Comptech ESM intercepts the MAP signal and sends its own signal to the ECU to fool it. If you have a bad connection somewhere, this is what you get. I'm almost certain that it is NOT a bad MAP sensor.
You are on the right track by double checking all the wiring connections from the ESM. Until you do, this problem will most likely come back.

yes sir...Dave....this is what i will be doing on thursday with another local s owner.
and yes..its an p0180...sorry...you are right..

but, my question is that..if its a bad connection..then..how come it goes away automatically. I did not touch the car at all until i drive the car back to my garuage on sunday.
but, either way..the double check is indeed need as you mentioned.
thanks again dave....

Like I said earlier, we're talking about electrical connections. These are affected by heat, cold, humidity, vibration, current load. By simply slamming your door shut, you may have jiggled it enough for it to make a better connection. In the intervening time, your ambient temps may have changed as did your humidity. Have you ever had a toaster that quit one day and after you pushed it to the back of you kitchen counter, came back to it a couple days later and then it worked? Or a light bulb that went out, but as you started to unscrew it, it comes back on and worked for a few more days or weeks?
Anyhow, don't be surprised that this problem comes and goes until you solidify those connections. If this should happen again before you get around to it, try slapping your hand on the kick panel a few times, do the "MAP whack" and reset the ECU and I'll bet the car will run like normal again (for a while).

I'm having the same problems, except I've only had the SC in for about two weeks. My question is, what is "the outcome of the OBD scan is ( P180 ), which is same as the other comptech SC owner's scan" and what does this mean?

pls advise

It is code P0108 Map Sensor Voltage High. I had the same thing and had the wires at the ESM redone and the problem is gone.

To add to what Avi has posted, the Comptech ESM "intervenes" between the MAP sensor and the ECU. The ESM must "hide" any sign of boost from the ECU. If the wiring connections are not solid (like in a crudely done crimp or electrical tape ), then the signal from the MAP to the ECU is either interupted or way out of spec. This will throw a CEL and most likely cause the car to run very poorly if at all. The ECU must have that signal, even if it's a "doctored up" one.
So when it throws a CEL indicating a MAP problem, this does not necessarily mean you have a bad MAP sensor. And because it is poor wiring connections, the symptoms can come and go as the connections makes and breaks itself from the normal vibrations that the car makes and from the kinds of exterior conditions that the car may encounter.
Avi has informed me that Comptech now encourages all installations of their kits should now utilize soldering as the only method of making those connections. They have had too many instances of what has been the topic of this thread.
