Default Help with TPS adjusting

Today, Like a dumbass I took off my tps. I have a SOS throttle body. I know I have to use a multimeter to check voltage. My question is How do I check voltage? with the engine running? with the ignition turned to ON?

Ignition on will do. There are three wires: +5V, 0V and Signal. As a guide I would say the 0V will be black or have black on it and the Signal will have green on it.

Let us know what you find out about the wire colours.

Well this is what I have from Alexf20
1) green/yellow: ground
2) red/black: signal voltage (output)
3) yellow/blue: reference voltage (input)

So tomorrow I will check...

Hmm, how familiar with a multimeter are you?

Set it to read DC volts with a range that covers 0-5V. Mine has a 0-20V setting.

The connect the black lead to the ground (green/yellow) and the red to +5V (yellow/blue). It should read a steady 5V (approximately).

Now connect the red lead to the Signal wire (red/black). With the throttle closed it should read near 0V. With it fully open it should be about 5V (mine actually reads just over 4V). When you move the throttle butterfly it should change smoothly from 0V to 5V (or in that range).

Wrap a thin copper wire around the probe with enough left over to insert into the connector.
