Default High-Beam/DRL Problem - could use some advice

Hi everyone,

I just swapped out my DRL/High-Beam bulbs yesterday with:

H1 OSRAM - Night Breaker Unlimited Halogen Bulbs 55W (Pair)

I got the bulb information from this thread:

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/449971-need-bulb-size/

However, after swapping out the bulbs, neither the high-beam nor the DRL work. They worked before I swapped them out.

Light a moron I put the car back together after changing the bulbs before testing them.

Before I take them back out I wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for other possible causes of why they may not be working?

I already checked the fuses and they are both fine.

Thanks,

I put Sylvania H1 bulbs in mine with no hassles so I doubt it's the bulbs.

Other than removing the coolant overflow tank I don't recall any disassembly. Something didn't go back on?

Problem is that the headlights themselves work. Everything except the DRL/High beam bulb.

I just took out the harness and put back in the original bulbs to no avail. Arg!!!

For the sake of other morons out there - the solution to this problem is:

Put the handbrake down.

/sigh

Ok, scratch that... I could still use some advice.

The DRL turn on but the high-beam lights don't flash when I actuate them.

Any idea why the DRL would turn on (it has power), the lever works (it flashes the driving beams) but the high beams wont go high?

Are your low beams on when you try to turn your high beams on? If your lows are off your high beams will only be on when you hold the lever. They will not stay

The only people capable of changing these bulbs are 10 year old girls. No one else has hands small enough. I somehow managed to do this myself and am dreading any bulb changes. Good luck! A lot of this was done blind and hoping stuff would click locked.

If someone has a secret, please share it.

Jack up car, support safely with jack stands remove wheel and fender liner, have at it. If you wanna get crafty you can turn the wheel out to full lock and remove some liner clips, with someone helping you by holding the fender liner you can get in there.

^ Canadian cars have DRL

As for OP's problem does the high beam indicator lamp light up on the dash when you switch to high beams?
