Default High Compression and Heat Soak

Okay so I have a full sleeved block with JE 11.5:1 Pistons. I did the math and the C/R is more like 11.7:1. After the block was milled
I have
INJEN cold air intake
D.I.Y. Vented Hood
72mm TB
Relocated oil filter W/ 30 row Oil cooler.

The problem I am having Is she is very sluggish on the afternoon drive home from work. The car runs like a bat out of hell in the mornings, but once it is above 80 degrees, I can tell a significant amount of power loss due to heat soak.

I am N/A and was wanting to know if a water/meth injection would help?? I seen snow performance makes one for N/A Applications. Just did not know how much it would help, and if it was worth 300+ Dollars??

Thanks for any input

I wouldn't think the meth kit would help unless you are having detonation issues and/or timing is being retarded.

For heat soak I'd look at cooling system mods, and colder spark plugs, also make sure your intake is isolated from the heat as much as possible.

I'd gauge air intake temp right before the throttle body. A cold air intake helps decrease these temps significantly. Something doesn't sound right here.

The OEM vented hood does nothing for cooling while the car is moving.

It doesn't matter what type of intake you have(CAI, SRI ect), you WILL experience heat soak. The colder air from a CAI is only drawn in when the TB is actually open. When you're at a stand steal, their is very little air moving through the pipe, which allows the heat of the engine to heat up the pipe and incoming air.

But to ask the obvious, are you tuned with the change in compression? If not, you should be. If you are, then the A/F and/or ignition tempurture compensation could be off. But you will have a decrease of power as the tempurture goes up, no matter what.

You can start with things like and aftermarket thermostat and fan switch. Possibly flush your radiator and get some fresh stuff in there.

I live in alabama where the mid day temps have already gotten up to 95 and i get a small bit of heat soak if i have to sit still at a red light for over a min but once moving it should be fine.

The stock cooling system should have no problem cooling the car in 80 degree weather. Im inclined to think the problem may be in the tune.

What are you using to tune with?
