High mileage issues
My s2000 is getting old, it is a 2002 and I'm currently at 122k. There are several things that I would like to take care of since I feel like I have been neglecting this car.
First,
It appears that I have an oil leak at my vtec solenoid. Where can I order the proper parts to remedy this?
Second,
I get a faint wump wump, very very very faint, at 20-35mph it sounds like it is coming from the front, and I believe this to be the front wheel bearings. I also am beginning to develop a chop on the inside of my front tires. I put my stock wheels back on, and the noise is still there.
Third, the car feels very floaty at high speeds, almost like driving without sway bars. Again I have checked everything, and I'm running out of ideas.
I have wiggled every bushing and balljoint, they all seem solid, I even replaced all four struts with a set from a friends s that had 50k on them. Do the symptoms that I have represent what is common, or could it be something else like steering rack bushings?

Usually a front wheel bearing, if bad, will make all types of noise while turning. Un sure you already know this, but the Best way to check Is by jacking the car up and trying to rock the wheel with your hands positioned at 12 and 6 O'clock, then at 10 and 2.
As far as the floaty feeling, I just installed a set of tein coilovers and had an alignment done. I hated them, like you described, it was floaty going into turns.
I made a few adjustments to ride height recently, then took it in for a "REAL" alignment at a race shop.
Difference is truly night and day.
So that's what I suggest, take it in to a local shop that sets up track/ auto cross cars. While it's up on jacks have their experienced eyes check for worn bushings.
Also, give you motor/tranny mounts a once over. They're probably done for at 112k.
