Original TCT? That thing must be rattling like a bitch I keep reading AP1 TCT is a very common failure part.

I'm curious how you car looks after almost 400k miles. Could you maybe provide us with pics? Engine bay, exterior, interior?

How much power you figure you've lost over the years? Any major issues or major parts replaced?

I picked up the car from an older couple (60s) last may/june with 213k. They owned the car the last 17 years and provided all the service records. I've done things that should be done as things age - you can see it in my thread under introductions section.

The engine, and trans are original, as is the clutch. Drives like a top. If the engine starts to show its wear in minerals, I'll likely take a crack at the rebuild, as I've rebuilt H22s successful before which also sport FRM liners. If funds are available and time is a constraint for me, I will see if an ILP 2.7 is still available. Otherwise a straight f20c swap. I'm to much of a honda fanboy to stick something else in it.

Came across this the other day; it's a photo from a salvage auction. Car was MY01 VIN #6704.

Of course as these cars get older, it gets more and more likely that a gauge cluster might have migrated to a different chassis and thus racked up miles "unfairly"... But this car looks exactly like you'd expect an all-highway s2k to look (bone stock, well-used but decently maintained):

The moon is roughly 190k miles away. Maybe to the moon and back. As light takes roughly 1 second to reach the moon. The speed of light is ~186,000 miles per second.

In other news I'm 36 miles away from hittin' the ol' 200k

^Lol it doesn't make a big difference to a photon, but it might to an S2000: the moon is actually about 239k mi away, on average. (Perigee is about 226k, apogee about 252k.) So even the 415k car above didn't quite make it to the moon and back.

Is the timing chain a maintenance item at these levels of mileage? I was wondering how long they last.
