HiTech, an Aus based company, designed an exhaust for the S2000. I asked them about performance increases and they claimed a pretty wild figure so I asked for a dyno graph. What do you guys make of the following?

I really cannot comment on the chart, it does not look like anything I am used to seeing.

It is interesting that expert Honda tuners Spoon, Mugen, and HKS that have substantial research facilities can only obtain limited gains with new header / exhaust products, but independent shops often claim twice the increase.

At least two examples we have seen of this phenomena come from Australia.. maybe the exhaust flows differently down under.

I guess I was really asking about the peak figures. They seem a bit low, even with the 'wonder' exhaust.

Are our horses bigger than yours, or was the stock S actually an S800?

They sucked so bad at drawing it, that they ended up making it look worse than stock numbers.

That dyno looks completely f'ed ..

I am guessing the different exhaust flow is from the coriolis effect??

ONE DAY I AM GOING TO WRITE A FAQ ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

As discussed before folks, in Australia, the majority of dynos are endyn dynos which will give a LOWER HP/KW/PS/orwhatever power reading than a roller type dyno that you folks are used to seeing in the states. And are not directly comparable

Now, as for HITECH, they are a reputable company here, and do have their own dyno systems. I think www.hi-tech.com.au or something like that.

What is interesting is that it is approximately a 15% increase in PEAK power over stock to catback.

Short of Australian cars being more restrictive at stock I can't explain this.

Actually, brings to mind - ok going to start a new thread about engine codes etc
